17th - 19th May 2017

Belper School

For the fourth consecutive year pupils at Belper School and Sixth Form will be able to take part in the Film School. Local cinematographer Louis Vella will spend three days helping the youngsters make two short films. They will write, act, direct, edit, and operate the equipment in and around Belper School.

"This is a great opportunity for the pupils to have a go and learn what's involved in film making," said Louis. "It's a very intense three days but each year we have ended up with some very fine work." Louis is a former pupil of Belper School who now runs his own company, Studio3Cine. His work has included feature films, advertisements and music videos. He also shot the trailers for The Belper Passion play.

Everyone involved with Belper Film School will receive a DVD and the finished films will be screened in a private showing for parents and pupils at the Ritz Cinema in Belper.

Thank you to Sarah Holme and Martyn Cooper for their support.
